To understand the concepts underpinning web services

Target Audience
Application and web developers wishing to attain competency in developing web services using the main web service technologies SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI; systems analysts and systems architects needing a thorough knowledge of service-oriented architecture concepts and web service technologies

Prerequisites
A thorough knowledge of XML including XML Schema and XML namespaces; familiarity with XML syntax and XML parsing and processing; prior experience with a programming language such as Java, Perl, or C#; familiarity with object-oriented analysis and design techniques, distributed component development concepts, and server-side development would also be useful
