Target Audience
All organizations or individual consultants already using Microsoft Visual Basic to develop business applications; existing Microsoft Certified Application Developers (MCADs) preparing for one of the new Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) certification upgrade exams

Prerequisites
Experience in developing Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Windows, web, and mobile applications to Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) level

  • identify the components of various new feature areas of the Visual Studio 2005 integrated development environment (IDE).
  • identify various developer-productivity enhancements in Visual Studio 2005.
  • identify various Windows Forms enhancements in Visual Studio 2005.
  • identify the project, solution, and item enhancements in Visual Studio 2005.
  • import IDE settings, add a code snippet, and perform some new Windows Forms creation tasks in Visual Studio 2005, given a scenario.
  • recognize how to deploy and configure ClickOnce applications in Visual Studio 2005.
  • access the configuration options of a ClickOnce application, and publish and install an application using ClickOnce.
  • identify various debugging enhancements in Visual Studio 2005.
  • identify extensibility, automation, and Help enhancements in Visual Studio 2005.
  • use a DataTip to edit a member of a complex data type and use Debugger Display attributes to modify how information is presented in the Visual Studio 2005 debugger.
