This second course in the series "Leadership in Senior Management", covers the practicalities that allow senior leaders adhere to the principles set out in the first course, "Senior Leadership Principles".

Target Audience
Managers in senior positions with supervisory, managerial, professional or senior non-managerial technical staff, or those about to enter such a position.

  • Motivating Staff

  • recognise the powerful benefits of identifying people's motivation as this provides the vehicle for achieving improved performance.
  • identify the principles which govern the motivation of people at work.
  • identify opportunities for satisfaction of staff needs.
  • given practical, real-life case study situations, determine which need(s) will have to be satisfied and how best to provide satisfaction.
  • Appraising Staff

  • recognise how using performance appraisals can have a positive impact on employee effectiveness and performance.
