Overview/Description
The Implementing Cisco Network Security (IINS) 3.0 course focuses on the design, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive security policy, using Cisco IOS and Cisco ASA security features and technologies as examples. This course allows learners to explore the fundamental concepts of network security and perform basic tasks to secure a small branch office network using Cisco IOS security features and Cisco ASA appliances. A primary goal is to teach the deployment of basic security techniques utilizing a variety of solutions within a real-world networking environment infrastructure. Upon completion of this course the learner will be able to describe security concepts, secure the network infrastructure devices, deploy basic authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) services, implement layer 2 security, deploy firewall security, and introduce VPN solutions. Finally, advanced security technologies and architectures will be discovered.
Prerequisites
The IINS course focuses on the technology required for securing complex networks. To fully benefit from this course, the student must be familiar with general networking concepts and have Cisco router operation and configuration experience. The student should also be familiar with the Windows Operating System. Successful completion of the following courses (or equivalent experience) is strongly recommended:
