Overview/Description
This course introduces the Quality Management System (QMS) model which is the conceptual framework for the ISO 9001:2000 standard requirements. The QMS model emphasises ISO 9001:2000's new focus on a process approach to quality, continual improvement and customer satisfaction. In addition, this course describes the important role that documentation plays in building a quality management system and outlines how an organisation can begin its ISO journey in an easy-to-understand format.

ISO's Quality Management System Model

  • recognise the benefits of establishing a quality management system following the ISO Quality Management System (QMS) model.
  • identify the components of the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System (QMS) model.
  • put in order the following components of the Quality Management System (QMS) model.
  • determine how the quality processes of an organisation correspond to the four QMS model components (representing the ISO 9001:2000 requirements): Management Responsibility, Resource Management, Product Realisation and Measurement, Analysis and Improvement.
