Overview/Description
It is important for administrators to have a good understanding of the best practices regarding network services and the proper configuration for a Cisco Unified Communications (CUC) deployment. In order to place calls and accept calls from the public switched telephone network (PSTN), a connection to the PSTN through either a traditional telephony circuit or an Internet telephony service provider (ITSP) must exist. This course explains how to configure network services, including voice VLANs, DHCP, Network Time Protocol (NTP), and Power over Ethernet (PoE) to support CUC. In addition, the course describes the components that are necessary to connect a VoIP system to a service provider network. This course is one of a series from the IIUC 1.0 SkillSoft learning paths which cover the objectives for Cisco exam IIUC 640-460.
