Overview/Description
Because so much work is done electronically, businesses and governments generate vast amounts of information, most of which needs to be kept available and safe. Storage technologies have improved with the growth of data requirements. This course introduces the technologies involved in storing and protecting this data and the different types of storage media, such as optical media, and describes the increased reliance on hard disks for permanent, secure data storage. As well, you'll learn about the technology behind RAID arrays and the various types of storage architectures. This course is one of a series in the SkillSoft learning path that maps to CompTIA's Server+ exam, SK0-004, and covers the following exam objectives: 3.1 Given a scenario, install and deploy primary storage devices based on given specifications and interfaces, 3.2 Given a scenario, configure RAID using best practices, 3.3 Summarize hardware and features of various storage technologies, and 3.4 Given a scenario, calculate appropriate storage capacity and plan for future growth.
