Every year, over 340,000 residential fires occur in the United States, resulting in more than 2,800 deaths and 12,000 injuries. This equates to a home structure fire occurring every 93 seconds, a home fire death every 3 hours and 10 minutes, and a home fire injury every 43 minutes. Working from a home office increases an individual's exposure to risk from a residential fire. In this course, you'll gain an understanding of the elements required for a fire to start and learn ways to prevent fires in the home office work environment. You'll learn how to respond if there's a fire in your home, including how to evacuate the premises. You'll also learn how to select and use the right fire extinguisher.
