By creating an equitable workplace, you will be able to attract employees with talent and a degree of loyalty to the company. You'll be able to diminish turnover, cut your training costs and improve productivity. You will also avoid the often antagonistic presence of unions no threat of strikes, no shop stewards with fistfuls of grievances, no pressure-cooker collective bargaining sessions. Without the specter of skyrocketing labor costs in union shops, a company will be more willing to make capital investments and expand the business. You'll also create an atmosphere of teamwork and respect, avoiding much of the territorial behavior of unionized companies.
