Becoming a greener organization is becoming a top priority for many businesses for many reasons, the most common of which include reducing energy cost and hardware expenses, complying with local or federal environmental legislation, and having a positive impact on the environment. This course is intended for information technology (IT) professionals who wish to become involved in helping their respective organizations develop earth-friendly and cost-cutting business practices. The information provided within this course will help you implement environmentally sound techniques such as proper equipment disposal, preservation of power, and reduction of an organization's carbon footprint. The course will also provide significant preparation for the CompTIA® Strata™: Green IT examination (Exam Code: FC0-GR1 ). This course is intended for information technology (IT) professionals who have decision-making authority for their company's IT infrastructure, who do not have significant prior experience or training in green IT-specific standards, technologies, and practices, and who face the need to establish sound green IT practices in their organization. The student should have mastery of baseline technical concepts such as those presented in standard industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ and Server+, as well as a working understanding of network technology.
