Overview/Description
One of the most challenging aspects of today's work environment is the effort to manage change. A change affects everyone at every level of an organization. It can have a positive and a negative impact on employees. In a simple sense, change means that things are not and might never be what they once were. It involves a disruption of existing activities and feelings, and it requires learning new ways of doing things. Managing change is letting go of illusions, accepting reality, and focusing on new possibilities. Change requires that we work out new agreements and find tools to move beyond the current status. This course is based on The Complete Guide to Wellness by two wellness experts, Richard Bellingham, Ed.D. and Barry Cohen, Ph.D., and published by HRD Press. Their book is a cumulation of over 20 years of experience in hospitals, wellness centers, and corporations, helping people live healthier, more innovative, and more productive lives. Bellingham and Cohen's approach to wellness is based on the belief that the human being is a system that requires a systematic approach for real change.
