Overview/Description
This course is intended to provide supervisors with an overview of the concepts of behaviour-based safety. This training will aid those supervisors who have not used these techniques in their day-to-day duties and responsibilities in the past. The content in this course is designed to comply with the intent of the applicable regulatory requirements. Learner objectives for this course are to define behaviour and identify the scope and purpose of a behaviour safety programme, distinguish the roles and responsibilities of the supervisor and the employee, identify factors that cause incidents (individual, organisational and job factors), identify the influences on behaviour, determine how to effectively observe behaviour, identify behaviour reinforcement concepts, specify ways to motivate employees and address the human factor, recognise the importance of attitude and how it affects safety on the job and describe transactional analysis. This course was developed with subject matter support provided by Chilworth (a DEKRA Company) – Global Experts in Safety and Process Safety.
