Learners begin by examining the transport pipeline—a collection of components responsible for moving mail around within an organization, and to and from the organization—and the transport service on both mailbox servers and Edge Transport servers. Then you will hear descriptions of message redundancy in the Front End Transport service on Mailbox servers, and Shadow Redundancy in Exchange. Next, explore SMTP timeouts and the message processing procedure after an outage.
