Overview/Description Target Audience Expected Duration Lesson Objectives Course Number Overview/Description
In today's workplace, organisations increasingly are experiencing a diverse community of employees and customers. Having and knowing how to respond to a diverse workforce can enhance an organisation's ability to cope with changing workplace dynamics and expand the creativity of the organisation while at the same time facilitating staff retention and productivity. This is a two lesson course. The first lesson focuses on what diversity is, the legal framework around it and why diversity matters. Then the focus moves to the challenges and benefits for businesses in taking diversity on board. The second lesson moves away from the legalese to focus instead on what organisations can do to bring about change to include diversity. This is then followed by what the individual can do. Throughout, examples of UK companies are used to illustrate what they are doing to promote diversity. This course was developed with subject matter support provided by Gordon Dadds LLP.
