Overview/Description
Many of Microsoft Windows Vista's new and enhanced tools can be used to simplify system management and troubleshooting. Windows Vista can be managed by using Group Policy settings when the system is part of an Active Directory domain, or by setting local group policies. Group Policies consist of Group Policy Objects (GPOs), which are used to configure system-wide or user-based settings, and are automatically applied to prevent problems and implement standards. For easier administration, event forwarding can be used to monitor events on multiple Windows Vista systems using one central location. The improved Task Scheduler is another management tool that can be used to complete administrative tasks on Vista machines. This course demonstrates how to manage and troubleshoot Group Policy settings, event forwarding, and Task Scheduler.
