Overview/Description
One of the main issues with upgrading client machines to a new operating system is ensuring that applications will still run without issues for the users. Microsoft enables administrators to use the Application Compatibility Toolkit to collect information about the applications and then test and mitigate any issues that may have been detected. This course discusses ACT and how to use it to collect data, analyze issues, and test and mitigate them using development tools. It also discusses when to use shims for compatibility mitigation. This course is one of a series in the SkillSoft learning path that covers the objectives for the Microsoft exam: 70-686. Pro: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator. Passing this exam will earn the learner Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator certification.

Target Audience
Individuals undertaking high level Windows desktop administration certification, and possibly Windows Server Enterprise Support certification. The customer base will also include companies using Microsoft Windows desktop and server systems that need their IT staff certified to a high level.

Prerequisites
