Program Overview: Windows Server 2008 is the latest generation of Microsoft server operating systems, providing enhanced versions of many of the familiar features of Windows Server 2003. Aside from an appearance similar to Windows Vista, Server 2008's key changes include the new and informative Server Manager, providing an overview of and the ability to add a range of server roles and role services. Another major enhancement - the more integrated support for IPv6 - has an impact on a range of services from routing and addressing to DHCP and remote access. This Certification path covers the processes and technologies used to configure Windows Server 2008's core network infrastructure services including DNS name resolution, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, dynamic IP address allocation using DHCP, and the ability to use Windows Server 2008 as a router. Also covered are major authentication and authorization protocols, and the integrated support of IPSec policy in remote and wireless network access.
