This course covers information about working in confined spaces, including information about hazardous atmospheres, necessary equipment, and permits. The intent of the course is to provide the learner with information about the hazards and hazard control methods that will permit safe work in enclosed work areas or confined spaces. It should be noted that depending on where you are working in Canada, confined space provisions (including how a confined space is defined) may differ. This course will outline the major points and commonalities of confined spaces across the Canadian provincially and federally regulated workplaces; however, it is recommended that the province-specific or federal regulation for your workplace be reviewed in conjunction with this course. This course was updated to include Canadian content with subject matter support provided by Pinchin Ltd., a Canadian environmental, health and safety consulting firm.
