Overview/Description

The Clery Act works alongside Title IX to make higher education institutions accountable and safe for students. Its purpose is to provide the public with transparency to campus crime policies and statistics, enabling students, prospective students, and their families to understand potential safety risks and make choices about the institutions they choose to involve themselves with. In this course, you'll learn about the history of the Clery Act as well as the institutional requirements aimed to make campuses safer for students under the Act.

This course was subject to additional review due to Executive Orders (EO) and memoranda issued by the current Presidential Administration. The content of this course has been reviewed by subject matter experts and was deemed to adequately address the relevant EO requirements at the time of last review.
