Overview/Description

The China Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) is China’s most comprehensive data protection regulation. As data becomes an increasingly important part of many business operations, the personal information and data of individuals is a both a valuable commodity and a massive responsibility to protect. Employees working for organizations that use personal information share a duty to protect the rights of individuals' personal data, which includes complying with the PIPL. This course outlines the purpose and principles of this regulation. It defines personal information processors, and describes the rights of individuals under the law. The course also describes measures employees can take to support their organizations' compliance with the PIPL.
