Overview/Description

All employees should feel safe at work, secure in the knowledge that they will be treated fairly and with respect. But, unfortunately, cases of harassment and bullying in the workplace are far too common. So it's important to know what protections employees have under the law and learn about organisational policies and procedures designed to protect employees from these types of unlawful behaviours and to prevent them from occurring. This course equips employees to identify what harassment and bullying involve and recognise examples of these behaviours. The course outlines federal and state laws that prohibit harassment and bullying in the workplace, and covers the general legal principles underlying these laws. The course also provides guidelines for responding to workplace harassment and bullying that employees witness or experience personally.

This course was developed with subject matter support provided by the law firm of Jackson McDonald.
